Software Trainer

Our client has a couple of software products that help drilling contractors and upstream operators manage data. The company has been around since the late 80’s and considers chemistry with the group as important as expertise. They collaborate frequently during and after work. I don’t want to sound cliché, but it is very much a family environment.

Over the years, the products have evolved such that they are complicated enough to warrant hiring a full time trainer to ensure proper use across the industry. This is a new position.

They need and individual who is educated in training methods and who understands the drilling process….preferably who has worked on or in conjunction with drilling rigs information (offshore or onshore). Many of the classes are given by webinar, however, some clients like onsite training, so travel may go up to 30%, international and domestic.

• College degree preferred.
• Collaborate with development team to enhance product.
• Conduct surveys.
• Develop course material.

Role would be based in California, but for the right individual they are willing to consider leaving the person in Houston. Working remotely, it may be harder to develop chemistry with the group, but would be considered. The city is beautiful and one hit hardest by the real estate collapse, so ironically is now far more affordable to buy a house and live.  The area offers an exceptional quality of life for those who appreciate the outdoors...almost too good to be true.
