Christy Kern is a recruiter, a professional coach, a career strategist and connector. Her background in energy, as well as over a  decade in the search business, allow her a competitive edge in the recruitment of top talent for oil and gas and energy professionals in Houston.

Prior to joining Kern Search in 2001, Christy spent five years working in the energy industry as a market analyst, a gas scheduler and a risk analyst. She gained not only a keen understanding of the logistics of both power and natural gas marketing and trading, but also developed an invaluable network of contacts in the field in which she recruits.

Christy earned a BA in Finance from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1993 and an MBA with a dual concentration in finance and marketing from the University of Houston in 1996. She is actively involved in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with the Gatekeepers Committee and is a volunteer career coach and resume writer for CCSC. Christy enjoys both writing and speaking about career strategies and interview preparation.

Christy is Certified Professional Coach and a Certified Birkman Method Consultant.
